I've been here only 5 days???

It feels like I've been in Israel for weeks already!

So much has already changed and I feel sooo much more comfortable.
I've gotten to know two of my roommates pretty well these past few days and I like them a lot! One of them invited me out dancing!! Fantastic!

I started Ulpan on Sunday and I already can speak so much more Hebrew than before. It's truly amazing. Four hours a day of an intensive language course is extremely successful.
Eyal took the train from Haifa to Be'er Sheva on Sunday.
He brought me sheets, blankets, a robe, towels, surge bar...but the best part was all the delicious food he brought me from his mom and family - rice, chicken, pasta, cake, potato dumplings, beef bourekas. I have enough food to last me a long time. He helped me figure out that what I thought was yogurt for breakfast was actually in fact a kids' pudding desert. A little different. He showed me the best humus, too which is essential. I am so lucky!

He also introduced me to his best friend who lives in Be'er Sheva, Tamir. I met Tamir and his whole family. His mom made a huge lunch! Pasta and schnitzel and kabab (beef). Everything kosher and everything fabulous. It was really nice to get a hug and kiss from a mom figure. They told me I could come whenever I wanted to. I am going to take them up on that offer!!

  3. Hi Natalie -

Dave and I just got back from a weekend trip for his birthday. I only traveled two days and slept each night in a bed and I still felt sick when we got home. The stress of traveling just takes its toll. After 3 huge cups of tea and a good night's sleep I feel great.

It sounds like you are doing better too. I can't stress how important it is to stay hydrated, get enough to eat and have good sleep when you are traveling. You can handle anything if you are watered, fed and rested.

    Love you! Sara

  4. Hey Nat -

ps - will you add the sidebar widget for an rss feed? That way I can add you to my Google page and follow you there.

pps - I like this blog format better than the first one you picked - it's easier to read.

    Thank you. Love, Sara
