בסדר גמור - Everything's good

I had a quiz in my Hebrew class on Monday and today I got the grade back - 100%! Things are going good. This week so far has been really good. I am finally feeling more in the groove of things. I realized that I really have to boost myself up, even if it takes telling myself every morning that today is a new day with amazing experiences ahead. I am practicing my Hebrew with my roommates more now so that feels really good. They want me to learn and they are generous enough to put up with my not-so-hot language skills. I got to look at the class schedule for the semester and there are some amazing classes being offered: Archeology of the Negev, Israel: Visions and Divisions, Gender Studies, etc. Things are looking up!

  3. Hi Nat -

I'm glad you are having such an interesting time in Israel. The ups and downs you described in your last post are exactly as I remember feeling when I travelled. It's just that way. Some days things feel easy and comfortable and other days homesickness hits you like a ton of bricks. As time passes homesickness becomes less, but I remember it always lurking around. It doesn't matter though - living and learning in a new culture is worth it. I'm glad you have roommates and Eyal's family to be your community.

    I love you.
    Sara

Ibex hanging out at the Ein Gedi youth hostel. It was a whole pack with kids and grandparents.
